I have always been creative, but I first realized I was an artist after I had children. The bright colors inherent in childhood, specifically illustrated children's books, absolutely enthralled me. Add to that the ability to invent something new everyday and a desire to convey a larger message, all drew me to painting. I have now been an artist for 19 years. I truly love that I get to do this every day! I have studied under the masters, various art schools and time in an artist colony to continually hone my skills. I work in gouache, watercolor, acrylic and oil. My work has been shown in galleries and art shows in Northern California, online nationally and in retail shops in Maine and California.

I use my art to capture and express common emotions we all share. I love observing humor, cultural norms and the raw beauty of nature. I want to paint the heart of the matter, and translate it to a distilled or abstract version. I am drawn to people, animals and inanimate objects, caught unawares, in a moment of authenticity. I continue to experiment with colors, materials and themes to convey a deeper meaning, we can all relate to.
