Victoria Ball is a British born artist and illustrator. She began her training in painting and drawing at Cheltenham College of Art in the late nineties and later studied at Falmouth College of Arts, Cornwall, UK, gaining first class honours in Illustration.
Victoria has forged a successful career in illustration, producing artwork for books, television, ceramics, packaging and publishers based all over the world.
Her latest body of personal work explores the shape of her local landscape, responding to the sense of place with colour and texture, in a non figurative way.
I'm interested in the harmonisation and juxtaposition of colour. Breaking down the forms of the landscape into simpler shapes brings this into sharper focus for me.
I like the idea that a painting can move in and out of abstraction, I’m not concerned with a piece being either one or the other.
