Archive New York is a Brooklyn based home textile collection founded in 2014 by Amira Marion. Growing up in a home full of Guatemalan textiles collected by her parents during trips there in the 1970s, Amira's love for textiles found a natural direction, interpreting Guatemalan traditional motifs and weaving methods for her collection, Archive New York.
At Archive NY, the design process starts by hunting down antique and increasingly rare fabric samples, illustrations and photos of beautiful handwoven textiles. The company then reconnects with the original artisan group associated with each design, with the philosophy of honoring the integrity of Maya culture & heritage.
Amira was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She attended Parsons School of Design in New York and Paris. After graduating, she worked for John Patrick Organic and designed accessories for Madewell 1937 before heading back for another stint in Paris to learn the language and begin research on a project that would turn into Archive New York.
