Hi, my name is Moran Pinchas. I'm a recent visual communication graduate with B.Des degree in illustration from the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Israel, and have just started my career as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer.
I illustrate using various styles and techniques. Most of my work is made by linocut prints. I use real paint prints and sometimes add digital paint. During my studies I took a hand-made print course with the amazing artist and teacher Dana Shamir. I enjoyed it very much and as I started gaining experience with the technique, it felt like I could find my own way of expressing myself and creating with that technique.
I draw a lot of my inspiration from fauvism art. I'm inspired by Henry Matisse’s printmaking and interior paintings. His work is full of textures, oriental art and
objects that float in the space. I also like to create my composition by using colors to create focus. I like to work with strong colors and flat color paint. The characters in my work are usually not realistic and appear separate from the background giving my work a flat look and feel.
