Yacov Gabay works in a variety of techniques, but primarily oil painting. He is a member of the Israel Association of Painters and Sculptors. He often appears in Israeli art magazines, journals and newspapers. He has also appeared in Israeli art books.

In 1964, Yacov received a scholarship from the Helena Rubinstein Fund and travelled to Paris, where is was accepted by the Academie des Beaux Arts and joined Chapelain-Midy Roger Atelier. Since his return to Israel, in 1970, he has presented in numerous solo exhibitions in Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa, as well as taking part in group exhibitions on various themes such as landscape, nature, still-life, portraiture, and interiors.

My painting style is realistic in essence. I paint this way because I love the world as it appears with its infinite shapes, color and substance. My paintings are representations of both esthetic and spiritual experiences.
