Claire Desjardins is an award-winning abstract painter. Originally from Montreal, she now lives in the natural beauty of the Laurentians, an hour north of the city, where she paints in her art studio, most days.
Claire’s artworks have appeared in major motion pictures and TV series. She often paints for charity, sharing the stage with popular bands such as Styx, Blue Rodeo and Randy Bachman. Her paintings were auctioned off to the highest bidder after the bands played their concerts, and 100% of the proceeds donated to charity.
Besides creating art, Claire also teaches painting workshops in both Canada and the US, and collaborates with companies such as US retailer, Anthropologie, and tech giants, Microsoft and Samsung, adding her colourful artwork to their mixes. Her designs are available printed onto merchandise at pixels.com, on apparel through Nuvango.com, and on tech accessories through GelaSkins.com.
She sells her original artworks on her web site, at art fairs such as Spectrum Miami, ArtExpo New York, The Artist Project and The Other Art Fair Los Angeles, and is represented by galleries in Canada and the US.
All of my work is an attempt to decipher the chatter in my head, to put forward a less awkward side of myself, to navigate through my everyday chaos towards calm.
My paintings are personal. The outside world is referenced quite indirectly through the filter of my emotions. Through my work, I find myself expressing sentiments or reactions of which I am consciously unaware.
