Born in Casablanca and living in Montreal, Benchetrit is a self taught painter, sculptor and designer. Benchetrit left behind a business and academic career including an MBA and PH.D at Montreal’s Ivy League McGill University in 1996 to pursue her artistic dream. Her signature style is known for her “Girls” which have been reproduced as life size porcelaine sculptures, mixed media paintings and most recently through a collectors edition of four original 64” and 40" life size bronzes on bronze base. Benchetrit is widely published and has been featured as one of Canada’s top up and coming artists. In the year 2000 the Guggenheim Museum of New York recommended her works to an animation producer and she has since created four cartoon properties for television and the Web. Benchetrit is also the creator of Caroline Benchetrit Brand of designs combining original artwork and digital designs licensed to the Consumer Products and Art Publishing industries and is a resource artist for Art Consultancies working with International design houses such as Yabu Pushelberg.

Benchetrit spends her extra time inspiring youth through "happening" art programs in her community.
