Background

Kristin Gaudio Endsley is an abstract artist and ceramicist whose work has caught the attention of critics and collectors worldwide.  Her paintings have been showing consistently since arriving in London in 2011.  She was one of a hundred emerging artists selected to particpate in The Other Art Fair. From there her work was exhibited at The Affordable Art Fair Bristol, Battersea, and New York.  Her works have been published in several publications such as British Vogue and The Washingtonian as well as exhibitions in West Elm London and DC, Kit and Ace Georgetown, and most recently One Kings Lane.

Raised near the rolling shores of Chesapeake Bay, Kristin’s perspective was strongly shaped by the visual clash of industry and nature in and around the bustling American port town of Baltimore. Kristin has a family history in highly tactile expressions of creativity. Family influences in materials and craftsmanship helped fuel Kristin’s interest in arts. As a result of this interest, in addition to her fine arts work, Kristin obtained her Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design at Virginia Tech University. Kristin has traveled extensively in Europe, Africa, Australia, and the United States where she honed her eye and trademark ability to create visual texture with a rich, adventurous color palette and expressive techniques.

Statement

Kristin has traveled extensively around the world where she honed her eye and trademark ability to create visual texture with a rich, adventurous color palette, and expressive techniques. Her work is processed based and tends to lean towards control and intuition.  Based on her surroundings Kristin expresses herself through the markings on her work.   Her geometric paintings were created during a time when precise plans gave her a sense of control.  Where as her expressionistic paintings pour out when intuition and senses prevail.
