Emine Ortega is a NYC Textile/Surface Pattern Designer and Artist who was born and raised in the Big Apple. Her education in textile design began at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, where she earned a degree in the field. She was further classically trained in hand-painted textile design in Rome, Italy where she spent two years working, and learning the art form. Her patterns are an expression of her love of life and "color" and they usually begin as original drawings or paintings that are then digitally enhanced. She is inspired by the beauty of natural, organic shapes. Her work is licensed and sold worldwide and has been featured in Joss and Main, Lulu and Georgia, Apartment Therapy, Domino Magazine's online store, Uppercase Magazine and Minted.

"I seek to create work that conveys a sense of harmony and movement, and that adds a touch of beauty to a person's surroundings."
