After spending years in the advertisting industry working on big 360 campaigns for large global brands, mixed media artist Kristi Kohut, decided to build a studio and create work that unites her passion for art and design. "Ever since I was a little girl, art has filled me with such a sense of joy. It is my bliss. When I'm creating, I'm in the flow."
Kristi's work is also available at West Elm,, Paperish Mess in Chicago, IL and LeggyBird Designs in Libertyville, IL. She has a collection of scarves in collaboration with Front Row Society launching Winter 2014. Kristi's work has been exhibited at Singalila Gallery, the River East Art Center and the ARC Gallery in Chicago, IL. She was awarded the Juror’s Choice at the Chicago Art Open in 2010.

Often using non-traditional materials such as embroidery thread, crayons, felt and magazine clippings, Kristi’s process is very intuitive and organic. What may start as a sketch or a painting, becomes part of a collage that evolves into a three-dimensional wall sculpture. Her work explores the theme of beauty in both nature and in our culture and how both reflect such universal truths as the lure of beauty, aging and the effects of our constant exposure to societal standards of beauty in the media.
